(1-0) The result of the Manchester United vs. Arsenal match in the English Premier League

Arsenal regained the lead in the English Premier League after defeating host Manchester United with an unanswered goal on Sunday in the penultimate 37th round, maintaining its chances of winning the title at the expense of its holder, Manchester City.

By winning at Old Trafford with a goal from Belgian Leandro Trossard, the team of Spanish coach Mikel Arteta raised its score to 86 points, one point behind City, which fell to second place temporarily before facing Tottenham on Tuesday in a postponed match from the 34th round.

Arsenal, dreaming of its first title since 2004, will wait for a gift from its London neighbor so that its chances remain strong before the last match in which it hosts Everton, while City plays West Ham.

Dutchman Eric Ten Hag started the match in the absence of Portuguese Bruno Fernandes, one of his most prominent players, due to injury, while Ivory Coast’s Amad Diallo started the league for the first time since May 2021 in light of his absence from many matches due to injuries.

Trossard opened the scoring when he received a ball from the brilliant German Kai Havertz, who was not offside due to a slow return from Casemiro. He played it into the area and his colleague easily put it into the net amid poor coverage from the Brazilian midfielder (20).

Trossard tried to add the second himself with a shot from the outskirts of the area that was caught by Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana (64).

Havertz became the second player to contribute the most goals in the league this season (scoring 8 and making 6, for a total of 14 goals), five goals behind Chelsea striker Cole Palmer.
